A few days ago, I downloaded the latest version ... "BlitzPlusSetup135.exe" and the latest update. The programs I compiled before the upgrade worked spendidly -- but the same source recompiled (with no change) produces exe files that crash. It even crashed when I tap F5 as a test. Creating the exe file produces no errors. Running the exe file crashes, giving the standard Windows error box with the offer to send a report to M$. I have reverted to "BlitzPlusSetup111.exe" and, thankfully, it's all working again. How disappointing that the latest and greatest should fall on its face! Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me? Julian (-_-) x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x<>x |

I used to have problems on my windows98/95 box where if the icon strip in the ide's source media (in the cfg directory) was either 8 or 24 bit images (I can't remember which but perhaps try changing the bit depth of those and it may start to work) then blitzplus (and blitz3d had the same problem) would fail when compiling or running within the ide and even running outside of the ide (executable). Perhaps look into that? |

Well, thats a useful and informative bug report. I relize that without a proper drop out error it is difficult for you to pin down where you program is crashing. However, if you were to put console/file prints in key loacations, it would be possible for you to help pin point the problem more specificaly. At that point, if you posted a code snippet that then also crashed to m$, im sure there would be a possibility of fixing the problem |
