I've just done this: http://www.lprestonsegoiii.com/2009/09/snow-leopard-and-svn-within-the-finder-first-solution/ and it seems to work well. No TortoiseSVN it is not, but it is handy to get ol' Bruceys invaluable mods in a hurry -:)

Running the svn command in Terminal.App also works fine. It's not comfortable, but it reliably downloaded Brucey's modules.

I heard SCplugin was fixed now. Is this not true?

Not according to http://scplugin.tigris.org/ Seems the context menu Api has gone with Snow Leopard.
