Mark has finally released Blitz3d SDK with source code!

Those who had purchased the SDK and wanted an access to the source code can be download via SVN.

This is a great deal for all of us who've always wanted this and now you can do many more great things with the B3D engine.

I really wish there was a trial version of this product to try it before buying it.

A question on that to anyone owning it: Does this include the SDK source code only or the whole blitz3d rendering sources so one could expand the technology itself?

Mahan(Posted 2009) [#4]
@Dreamora: What do you mean by "SDK source code only"? Did you mean the DLL-wrapper-API code?

I downloaded the source from the SVN (but I haven't got around to try to compile it yet), but all the source is there for the whole DLL including the 3D as far as I saw at a quick glance, so yes, it should be very possible to expand the technology.

I'm not sure about the license but it would be cool if we that are SDK-customers could share improvements in some way, and even better if the improvements could "spill over" back into the Blitz3D codebase.

Things like loading game-resources like models from streams/open files/membanks handles should not be too difficult to add in a short while, but it would be nice if there was a BRL-approved way to post back such improvements for other users on this site.

Does anybody know where Marks worklog has gone as I wouldn't mind having a look at the source?

Or even if you have the SVN address please?

I don't know where the worklog went.

Cheers for that Floyd. Looks like all his worklogs have gone.

Where did the svn link to the source code go? Did they pull it offline again?

BRL Subversion access

Arggh damn. I accidentially deleted my copy of the source code. Anywhere else you can get it?

GaryV(Posted 2009) [#11]
Did you check on your account page under product updates? If it isn't there, BRL really needs to put it there for the SDK owners.
