Networking? Servers and clients?

You can't expect a decent answer to a question like this...

If by 'online' you mean 'multiplayer' then check out the BlitzPlay multiplayer code library at http://www.blitzcoder.com/blitzplay . There's a free version and a low cost commercial version.

If you mean a game that runs on a web server then, as Epicboy says, you need to be more specific. Try doing some searches for 'web server software', 'web server games', 'web server languages', 'online games', etc, on Google to research the subject further so you can ask better questions.

@Goober

Making a good stand-alone game is hard-enough
Making a good ONLINE game is even harder

Don't know about your experience, but one step at a time :-D

Yea Check out blitz play, it's totaly easy. You have 3 functions for client and host you'd work with for the most part.

1) Create Host
2) Joint Host
3) Update Messages - Handle Incomming Packets....

It's 2 Easy for words....

check this lil biatch i coded as my first 3D game. It's Multiplayer And uses Gnet.....
