quake 3 bsp map questions

Alright, here's a quickie, I tried to search the forums for something on it but, I couldn't find any posts.
I've got my quake 3 bsp, I've got the loader prog when I load the bsp it shows up entirely in green which isn't the actual colors of it. I must be missing something. First, I tried it with the original directory structure, map, textures, scripts, etc. and loaded the bsp from within it's directory when that didn't work I put all the textures and stuff into the same dir with the map and I had one texture show up on the map which was a little ramp tex. I know I'm missing something. Do I need textures installed from the actual q3a or what??

Oh, and by the way, maybe this is a dumb question but, can bb3d just load the friggin pk3 file?? or is there a lib/dll to do that?? I know you can rename it to .zip btw.

Woah, hey! How about that...I didn't realize or 'catch' that the example source had set the ambient light to green so, everything is fine now. duh...! I guess we can turn this thread into a open flame.
