When I am in milkshape and I tell the program to Spheremap the texture I have selected... It looks mirror cool! How do I do that in my game? |

Again I am not thinking hard enough... I really need to learn to clarify. In Milkshape when I set the enviroment to Spheremap the object in the preview window looks razor sharp and glitters really pretty... But in B3D when I use spheremap I seelarge chunky and jaggy blocks of color on the flat areas... I have tried increasing the poly count until I get memory access errors cause they are too high... No joy! The same thing happens if the objects are either b3d or 3ds or x. It doesn't seem to matter what format the object is. -RZ |

If you are seeing jaggy blocks of color it is probably due to smoothing errors in your model. Specifically, spherical environment mapping only works well when the entire object is smoothed (I'm talking about the normals, not the polygons.) Please post some screenshots or the model in question; it is really hard to diagnose visual problems from a written description. |

OK this is what it looks like: (first attempt to post a pic here...)![]() The other two images are linked here: ![]() ![]() Now assuming all went OK there should be piccage on the site here in a mo! -RZ PS I smoothed the surface as suggested... reflection on the curves is excellent but the flats are weird! |

OK what happened? Let me try this:![]() |
