Re-installing B3D

Hi,

I bought Blitz3D back in yesteryear when it was being distributed by Guildhall. It has been on my machine ever since and I use it for simple little prototypes and presentations. However I recently had to reinstall the machine and as a result had to reinstall B3D, unfortunately it now says my key is 'not found' or 'in use', I assume it is the later as I checked my registered products online and the BUID matches what I am typing in.

Is there some sort of reset / new key option somewhere that I am missing to get this reinstalled? I have sent an email to the support peeps but from the numerous searches I have done trying to find an answer the only result I got was 'no response from customer support'.

Did I do the right thing in mailing support or am I missing a big huge button in front of me (so blind sometimes) that will allow me to reinstall the product?

many thanks

hmm... i recieved an installer package, which can be re-downloaded if need be somewhere on this site if given the correct code, i think.

Thanks for the reply chwaga,

The only installer I have is on the original disk I purchased (Guildhall leisure distribution) which is what I am having the problems with. There is an option under 'my account' that says if you require the full download then contact support, which I have done.

Looks like I'll have to wait for a response.

Yeah, blitzsupport should sort you out.

Are you saying that you need to enter a product key to install the program? Because, I too have the oriignal disk from Guildhall and all I needed to do was re-install from the disk and then download the latest update(s) from this site. I was never asked to re-enter a new key. Where exactly are you getting this error message?

I get an opening splash screen with the guildhall logo above it, it then asks for my email & BUID. After entering I get a standard windows alert box with the error.

Some of the early distros of Blitz3D used online verification, and it caused more problems than it solved (I know because I was sat at the other end, answering the phone and trying to fix it all).

If you're unfortunate enough to have one of those copies, you're completely buggered I'm afraid. That version will never install again. It only allowed one install. It boggles the mind that somebody, somewhere, decreed this was a good idea, when in reality it turned out to be a technical support nightmare.

Anyhoo...

Hopefully if you send your details to BRL, they should be able to verify your purchase and fix you up with a new download.

All is ok again, kudos to blitz support who have now supplied me with a new installer that works a dream.

Thanks for all your replies
