I all please test the my version Ambient Occlusion Simulate Shader in the your macchine and post the result http://digilander.libero.it/eyeandlight/Occlusion_ambient_v006.rar Bye bye |

6 FPS on Window Vista / CPU Dual Core 2 Ghz / 2 Go Ram / NVidia 9600M GS |
| ||
7-8 FPS on WIn XP Pro / Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 / 2gb Ram / Nvidia 8600gt |
| ||
0-1 fps, win xp media center. laptop with integrated ati graphics card. |
| ||
I got 8 FPS on my big-boy rig. nVidia 8800GTX - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4GHz. I bet he left 'Debug mode' on, or he just isn't doing it right - or both. |
| ||
5FPS on Windows Vista, 3Gig RAM, 2.4Ghz Duo Core, Nvidia 9600 GT - 512Mb. And it looks...odd |
| ||
1FPS on Win Vista,2 gig ram,Pentium dual core MOBILE,No Idea what graphics card is |
| ||
8 fps 9600GT, windows XP, 3GHz P4, 1GB ram Looks wierd |
| ||
@ cp it sounds like you have an integrated graphics card on your comp. go to my computer and on the bar under the path text box the should be a button that says "system properties" click it and look on the right for device manager and look for graphics controller. @ daredevil any chance on a regular old .zip, last time i put win rar on my system it messed up the ability to make zips. |
| ||
No! the demo no Debug mode, not optimized and this not use shader and is a first test good, for fast speed you reduce interaction this is possible witch KEY button Q/W the my notebook have a ProSavage athlon 2000 0.82 FPS for mtnhome3d ok the new test file zip ok thanks all |
| ||
7.5 fps on a dual core (2.4 GHz) with GeForce 7300 LE and Windows XP, 2GB RAM (yes, crappy environment, it's my office computer) *gg* Regards - Xaron |
| ||
I'm waiting for the next optimized version because this one looks odd and is much too slow to be considered practical. |
| ||
7 FPS on a dual core 2.4ghz with GF 8600 GTS. I tried more iterations, less iterations, more blur, less blur, but whatever settings I had just gave me a really washed out white screen with the occasional blurred shadowy bits inbetween. It doesn't look like it does in the gallery no matter what settings I put it on. |
| ||
same |
| ||
Checked. I think it's an Intel. |
| ||
where is the zip? the link at the top is still a rar? i'd like to test this but can't. |
| ||
3 FPS Average. ATI Radeon 9250 256 DDR 1.47Ghz Mobile AMD Athlon XP-M +1700 512MB RAM Screenie: |
| ||
That's pretty much the same picture I get. |
| ||
the new immage SSAO and I have duplicate frame rate and this is first http://www.blitzitalia.altervista.org/modules/xcgal/displayimage.php?pid=40&fullsize=1 This a new demo http://digilander.libero.it/eyeandlight/Demo_Occlusion_ambient_v007.zip Bye |
| ||
still looks pretty freaky...If you want sfx, why don't you just go to another engine?? |
| ||
While I admire your effort - it doesn't look good, it's dog slow so couldn't be put to any practical use in a game. I think you're wasting your time. |
| ||
8 fps, amd turion 64 x2 dual core 1.90 ghz, nvidia geforce 7000, win vista |
| ||
In addition to what StevieG said, I'm not even sure you're approaching this the right way. You're darkening all the wrong areas. I'm not sure if this due to a misunderstanding in what SSAO actually does if you're trying to overcome an inherent limitation in Blitz3D, but perhaps you could outline in pseudo code or even a plain english description what your code is trying to do. |
| ||
the system has many errors, but the tests serve in order to verify the speed of this system before continuing |
| ||
What is Ambient Occlusion used for? |
| ||
What is Ambient Occlusion used for? It simulates the way light behaves in reality. Instead of applying a universal amount of ambient light all over a model, it looks for the areas which are least able to receive light ( in others words, the nooks, crannies and crevices where not much light can reach ) and it applies a lower ambient light value in those places than the wide open areas where lots of light can reach. It tends to give a greater sense of depth and "3D-ness" to objects because of that. |
| ||
this is the leadwerks engine performing ambient occlusion. |
| ||
That was a huge difference! I can see why something like this is useful! :) Thanks for the explanation. |
| ||
this a new demo http://digilander.libero.it/eyeandlight/Demo_Occlusion_Ambient_v009.zip |
| ||
Has the frame rate improved? |
| ||
Yes, it's much faster. About 30fps now. I have absolutely no idea what the effect is supposed to be though. It just sort of pulsates between grey and white. It's nothing like it was before, and not what I was expecting it to look like either. |
| ||
30FPS without the occlusion. 5FPS with the occlusion. I kept switching between having it on and off and its pretty much the exact same thing. The difference is that having it on makes it look low res and kinda blurry. I have absolutely no idea what the effect is supposed to be though. It just sort of pulsates between grey and white. From what I saw, he has the light moving above the model from left to right and back. |
| ||
Looks like some low res blurry bloomy overbright effect. Definately eats up too much processing for any practical use. 78fps without 26fps with Why the fps already is so low without this effect? |
| ||
the problem is vertical synck i have set Flip(True) and not Flip(False) this is problem ;) Bye |
| ||
Great! Post a demo. |
| ||
3fps with it |
| ||
for Ked http://digilander.libero.it/eyeandlight/Demo_Occlusion_Ambient_v009.zip expect the new demo |
| ||
There is no difference between that one and the one posted before. |
| ||
this a image new version Full Screen Image |
| ||
this a last demo ;) http://digilander.libero.it/eyeandlight/Demo_Occlusion_ambient_v016.zip bye all |
| ||
No offence but 15fps max in such a low res scene is useless. The high res version looks better but is blurry as hell when moving around. |
| ||
hi res:2 fps low res:3 fps Not worth it. any larger of a level, and you'd be moving at .0000000001 fps. |
| ||
for Cp: set enable the bios Write and Read fast for AGP Card This a last ad end demo SSAO http://digilander.libero.it/eyeandlight/Demo_Occlusion_ambient_v017.zip test pleace this and post FPS Bye |
| ||
v017 hi res: 16fps low res: 31fps acer aspire 1692 wlmi, x700 64mb, winxp |
| ||
017 -- hi: 20-25, lo: 30-35 I'm surprised people are so hostile to a little experimentation! What's wrong with doing things just out of interest? |
| ||
True, it could make for a nice pixel blur type effect :P But the framerate would ne to be improved still. |
| ||
Thanks All this test is write all in B3D no support C++ :D Bye |
| ||
Wait up 10 years and this will be fast... |
