Which modellers are free & export to a format Blitz3D recognizes? |
| ||
http://www.blitzbasic.com/toolbox/toolbox.php?cat=1 Also : Anim8or is free and can export in .obj and .3ds and there is a plugin to export in .b3d Wings3d is free and can export in .obj or .3ds |
| ||
MilkShape 3D is not free and Wings 3D has not got a manual. Anim8or is the best so far! |
| ||
what format does b3d recognize? |
| ||
.3ds,.b3d,.mdl,.x iirc those are the only ones |
| ||
is there a good simple explanation of the b3d specs anywhere? |
| ||
^^^ Specs and utils ^^^ [edit] Look up... [/edit] |
| ||
I really want the internal file format of .b3d if that is possible. I could use it to write import/export for my 3d modular :) |
| ||
.3ds,.b3d,.mdl,.x iirc those are... mdl? |
| ||
Should be .md2 not .mdl.....it's all in the b3d docs though. |
| ||
Affirmative! |
| ||
http://www.evolved-software.com/mapscape/mapscape Exports to x format. Easy to use. |
| ||
DarkBASIC Professional and things made around it stink! |
| ||
Then you're not thinking right. It works quite well and it saves in x format which loads into Blitz just fine. But whatever... |
| ||
Thanks, yet, what I am looking for is an object creation tool. For example: spaceships, cars, barrels... |
| ||
Blender :-) |
| ||
Oh yeah, how did I forget Blender! |

http://www.daz3d.com/hexagon-what-is-hexagon Not free but dirt cheap. Nice too. I'm pretty good at finding things that don't match what someone asked for. |

I've got very basic b3d mesh import functioning now. Here's the dwarf and turtle ![]() ![]() And the dwarf axe recoloured and textured ![]() Next step would be to do export of the same models. |
