Close, but still has a vacant, dead stare

It lacks the soul. :)

..its so obvious its artificial, that term 'photorealistic' doesnt apply at all...there is something about modeling/simulating a living being, that is for some reason, just so hard to get right and convincing..its obvious, its not just plain light and texture to get right..its much much more to it..

When I saw this for the first time, I was impressed.

the odd thing is the image above has more 'soul' than the unreal one

It's the uncanny valley: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley

Something that almost but not entirely looks like a real human will look creepy, while less realistic things don't trigger the same response.

I confess that this humanoid gives me fear, terror, terror. :(

Whenever he argued that photorealism does not have to be equal to what we see in the real world. Rather it is up to the limit that we can get closer to reality. A few years ago one of my first games that I had the opportunity to play was GTA III, for that of 2005, really impress me, to date this is really impressive, now, older people than me, if you have ever played In a 2600 a game, they could say.
