Milkshape Animation Export

Whenever I try exporting my animated object from milkshape3D the meshes separate rather than stretch to form the animation in Blitz3D. Is there anything I can do to my model to stop this, or is there a freeware exporter I would be able to use that could easily correct this? I've tried using MS3D's b3d exporter and DirectX exporter. None work. I've also tried exporting from LithUnwrap (older free version) but it removes all animation frames... Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. |

MS3D's B3D exporter is borked: it exports animation in the z-axis backwards and results in totally unusable files. The only solution I've found is to save the .ms3d, open it in Ultimate Unwrap and save it from Ultimate to the .b3d format. Honestly, if you're using MS3D, Ultimate is the perfect companion for all sorts of reasons, only one of which is decent B3D exporting. Well worth the expense. |

Ugh! More things to buy... There is a demo right? Maybe I'll use that for now... |

The pipeline? |

The pipeline? Sorry, but is that an answer to my question? In response again to morduun, it seems that the UltimateUnwrap Demo cannot save files as its restriction. While I respect that from there standpoint, I need another program or method to fix my objects. So if you know how I can fix my objects with milkshape or if there is some converting program I can use that is FREE, that would be of great service to me. -Digital Fortress - could you elaborate on your answer? Thanks for your help anyways though... |

CharacterFX exporter for .b3d works fine. Also animations are much easier than using MilkShape Last CharacterFX is much cheaper than Ultimate Unrap |

Pipeline exports from MAX, not MS3D. There are no free solutions to your problem, unfortunately. CharacterFX is an excellent tool -- I own it as well -- but if you're comfortable with the MS3D animation tools I'd get Ultimate first as it can add a lot to your ability to properly map models. |

Ugh. Well does the characterFX demo allow saving, or is it too a saving restricted program. I am low on money and there are way too many things I need to buy, not to mention buying something simply for an exporter. Yeah, yeah, Ultimate Unwrap also has many other features, however, I was fine with Lith up until now... There must be a free solution even if it is the form of a product that has little to no other use. |
