| Just came across this pixel art program which I don't think I've seen mentioned on the forums. Free version is available. Graphics Gale Although the site is Japanese(?) you can find the download page by clicking on the huge 'download' image. | Yup, ben mentioned. By me at least. And in the old BC forums also. Anyway, is a a good free tool. I prefer Adobe ps and some sort of sprite/tile checker.[Is how allways I do at work.] Like Animation Shop, etc. |

| Oh well, at least it's 'bumped' now. I find PS slightly too fancy for something simple like pixel art, but this seems just right. |

| One thing I like of this one is the animation preview window. Consider it a silly thing from me , but i get disturbed with its blinking. I hope one day they fix that...Happens to me also with Pixia's free painter's UNDO. Great tool, but I hate blinking...And I undo a lot. |

| If you're refeering to the animation preview flashing, you can right click and choose pause from the list. That will stop the flashing. |

On the subject of paint programs: here's another one that's pretty decent... Freebie, even: Paint.NET, http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/ No specific animation features IIRC, but does support layers such. |
