i like the textures on those boxes, and the model of a man looks good too!

(tu) sinu(Posted 2004) [#4]
The boxes are great, well the textures are.
That man looks good too, seems a bit small though, poor fella :)

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#5]
hey that box model took me at least 10 mins to make

yeah that bloke is a bit weird proportion wise. I may try and fix him one of these days

EDIT ahh you mean his 'little fella'is small EDIT
I didn't want it to distract people by making it too big

If you want honest opinions: The Boxes textures look too syntetic too me. How about to use a camera to take some pictures from real boxes, I promise it will look more realistic. However, you have to take care for it must fit in your current game design style. And although I highly respect your work I found it a tiny little bit too clean.

But of course this is only my personal and maybe not very relevant opinion.

The human model look very good.

Yeha i prefer clean textures at the moment. I will do some stuff where I using a more realistic textures, but for this project its that cleanish style I am going for.

I don't like using real photos normally. I am going for that more 'illustrative' look.

I see. I also noticed the persistant level of "cleanness". It's a decision and you do it consequently, which shows again your prof. skills.

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#9]
well I have tried to do the dirty look for textures. I am just not 'that' good at it yet. Its just technique really.

When I need to be able to do that style I will focus more on the techiniques required for that style.

Oddly enogh I can do realistic people quite well, environments are harder for me.
This cowboy is probably my best 'realistic' piece so far
this was painted in pshop, with no photo overlays

Looks great. Could be a Max Payne Char.

Beaker(Posted 2004) [#11]
Enviable art skills, that man.

thnaks guys. I finished putting my folio together now. I already applied for one job and hopefully this time around I get more repsonse.
My presentation normally lets me down

SwedishChef(Posted 2004) [#14]
The cowboy is really nice. The bulge in his pants is a bit disturbing though...

Ruz(Posted 2004) [#15]
LOL, yeah. It was just the design from the reference I was using.
