I wonder where the whole tutorial forum section has gone?!? |
| ||
If that post was intended to be sarcastic, then do not read the following: The tutorials pages is up at the top of the front forum page, if you haven't already noticed. Sorry, jfk <insert weird series of numbers here>, I can't tell sarcasm that good. :P |

Yeah but the tutorials page has mysteriously been stripped of anything art related. I posted some good links to texture creation a while ago. http://www.good-tutorials.com/tutorials/1/30 http://www.gfxartist.com/features/tutorials |

Maybe you don't need art at all... just code to make great looking games? :) And with BMAX you don't even need 3D anymore, just (more complex) code... BMAX and Blitz3D ARE programming languages, I know, and not "GameConstructionKits" but B3D was/is SO close... but this current trend of dissing GFX is worrying. How many ppl will ever try to do anything else but games using BMAX or B3D? Not many. How many will have GFX in their games? 99.5%. |

Yup, graphics is still important and with simple tutorials, even non artists can create something half decent. |

wait a minute, in the pre-BMAX area we had two tutorial sections, one for coding and an other one for Art work, that is in fact still missing as far as I see. I remember I wrote a tutorial about a walking character animation that took me several hours, especially for that section. |
