..hi guys..i just want to share art style for 2nd episode of Hoodwink..its all 3D and not 2D background..i hope you like it.. |
| ||
Beatifull =) |
| ||
Even better looking! |
| ||
Looks good - wasn't keen on the style of the first one, to be honest. |
| ||
A huge improvement over episode one. Like GfK, I wasn't too keen on the style you used for the first episode - too "gritty" and "dirty", I thought. Episode 2 seems to have a much cleaner style that still envokes the retro/steampunk aesthetic. Nice one. |

Really nice. Is this B3D? What tools have you used? Last edited 2012 |

hi mkg..im glad you like it..tools used are BMax+LE2.x .. |
| ||
Really nice...you could tone down the bloom filter though. |
| ||
..of course..this is just first setup..final version will use combined LE2.x and NF rendering options, so this is not final quality.. |

Good to hear :) |

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I bought and played Hoodwinked last night and have a few observations. Like others, wasn't totally sold on the heavily outlined art style - worked in suggesting a sense of grime but overwhelmed small objects, particularly when seen from far away. Long load time after initial scene. Also, after a strong start, became frustrated as it wasn't clear that on reaching the ground floor, I could walk right - it just looked like a deadend. This meant much wandering around while the hint told me to 'go to gound floor (sp) and click on girl'. This hint had me snarling as I didn't know who 'the girl' was. I expect others had this issue and quit. Running/walk control was nerfed. It's important in an adventure game with a fair amount of wandering through screens, to give the player a speedy method of getting through previously explored areas. Expect this hurt review scores considerably. Also, many adventure games give the ability to highlight clickable areas. Some action icons not working - possibly because trigger actions not yet done by player. Gives impression of bugginess. Trouble sometimes in finding walk hotspots between foreground objects such as pillars etc. In fact, navigation often somewhat difficult. Often playing in silence - needs more ambient sound fx such as footsteps, background city. Not enough player feedback on what was intended in the collect the flowers mini-game. Given wonky nature of other action icons, wasn't initially sure if it wasn't a bug. Player 'trust in designer' issues here. On returning to street level, double up of meshes for robot with chocs and street vendor - looks like new copy of animated model had been loaded without removing previous. May be related to alt-tabbing out of game temporarily. Some character dialogue borderline racist? For someone who's just lost his fiancee, main character a bit non-nonchalant? What I do like; good voice acting, engaging characters, inventive situations, great music. Looking forwards to the next episode. Last edited 2012 Last edited 2012 |

You've definitely cranked the artwork up a notch in my opinion. |

@MadJack you are totally correct..as a matter a fact, reviews were not so good, but to put it plain and simple, they were right..gameplay is basically near broken and exposing story only..I could go for reasons why is it like that, but its no point to do that right now, as everything is addressed in to 2nd episode where all issues ever mentioned were fixed, and gameplay is completly overhauled in terms that player will not be exposed to things such as 'you cant do this or that'..in fact, new system will let player experience game on many different ways, depending what options are choosen, including fail options..on the top of that, game will run with no problems and with same visual quality on every PC toaster out there..after 2nd episode is done, episode 1 will be revisited and 'overhauled' with new system, and offered to existing customers for free.. ..also, for 'double robots', i think you running non patched version of the game..try to download latest patch, solving most of the technical issues.. na Good stuff - ep 2 is a buy for me regardless. I should mention I bought HW from Gamersgate last Friday. Has the patch been released in the meantime? I know I had trouble with GG in getting them to update TU to the latest versions. Steam is a breeze in that regards... |

..hmm..they should have patched version already, including DRM free and few other things..let me check and ill be back to you..Im sorry for any issues caused.. |
