Raising money for SSAFA

This is a little off-topic for here, but I know we're a generous lot when it comes to funding Kickstarter projects, and SSAFA is way more important than that.

SSAFA - Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association.

What SSAFA does, is provide support to injured servicemen/ex-servicemen (and women), and their families, in the UK. My grandmother received a lot of support from them in the early 1980s when my grandad died, as he had served in World War 2.

Anyway, this forces guy, Jason Wilkes, was injured while serving in Iraq in 2006 and now suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He's taking part in the Great North Run (13 miles) in September 2013, but as an added twist, he will be pulling behind him a pair of tyres to make it even harder for himself. He's doing it to raise funds for SSAFA so that they can help more people, but also to raise awareness of PTSD.

Here's his page at JustGiving.com where you can donate - (don't forget to add Gift Aid - it doesn't cost you any more, but he receives more). You can donate by any major credit card, UK debit card, or Paypal.

Thanks!

Yes...sounds worthwhile. Returned soldiers in pretty much any country seem to get a lot less looking after than they need...which is pretty unfortunate when they've risked all for their country.

Hope you don't mind GfK, but I'm going to lock this before it gets derailed as unfortunately I've already have to hide a post. Sad that some people always attempt to stir things up even when something is for a good cause.
