Wow that sounds neat, and looks cool in the shot too, I'll d/l the demo and let you know what I think! edit: -------------- OK, I've played the game now, and found a few things. First off let me say that I can tell a lot of work has been put into this and it's quite a cool concept! One thing that I would definitely change is the speed of the character, it feels like you're running around in slow motion. Secondly, I didn't really like the way combat was set up... It just doesn't seem right for the gameplay. Thirdly, I think the landscape needs a bit more variety, especially texture wise. If you made a few tweaks to this game, it would be even better than it already is :) Planning on using your own media in later versions perhaps? |

Looks superb like all your stuff! And of course, the random creation philosophy is top class! |

GoSe... this looks interesting, downloading it now. Can I offer up a few critical observations, just from the screenshot alone... these things caught my eye immediately. (1) the objects in general look flat... maybe a lil lightmapping or other lighting/shadow effects to give them a more pronounced 3D appearance. (2) the character in the foreground fades into the rest of the shot as to loose identity (focus) as if he (it) were part of the background... again, more presence by changing the texture effects on this guy, or maybe the way he is being lit. (3) the particles near the foreground character are also the same color/shading as the entire scene... makes it also look like part of the background. again, it looks like a lighting thing... (4) the sky is just a plain blue background... while normally this would be ok, the graphics in the scene are too good not to have a textured sky behind them. i know that this is an early wip demo (ver 0.3), so i'm assuming that a few of these things are probably under consideration by you already... ... if not, consider em brought to your attention :) aside from the above, it looks like a very interesting game... it at least got enough of my attention to warrant a download (i usually pass most demos by)... this one looks like it has potential... hey, 5% done already... don't ya just luv 56k :) --Mike |

Dynamo Thanks :) I was also thinking about changing the speed again + adding a run button. For the combat, maybe you could explain your point a little more? And as for my own media, I'm currently checking with a couple artists to have original content. Kaisuo Thanks :) jfk Thanks again, like always ;) Red Ocktober Yeah, I have problems with lightning. I dunno how to make it look right. The ground is lightmapped though.. And the next update should contain a sky box, I wanted to make it for this version, but I was already 6 weeks into this patch, it had to come out ;) I know what ya mean, I'm on 56k too and I've got to upload this monster every now and then :P |
