Lotus Particle Editor
This is a quick way to build awesome particle effects using Noel Cower's Lotus Particle System. The system can currently:
+ Export to Blitz3D
+ Recreate any effects possible in Lotus (almost)

Planned features
Some of the upcoming planned features are:
+ Opening and saving to the Lotus Script Format (.lps)
+ Particle Spline path editing.

In action...

(Nothing fancy but Ion-Storm was whinning :) )

Get it now!

If you have any questions, comments, bugs, suggestions please post them here or on the Lotus Editor forum: <currently down - phpBB keeps erroring :)>

Very cool! I grabbed Noel's particle system but haven't played with it yet. Now I have no choice ;)

Picklesworth(Posted 2004) [#3]
looks cool. I'll be using this tool!

Hot damn, you're done early ;)

Much better than mine so far :P

Edit: Oh, and I'll write the LPS output functions- they'll just get added to the next release of Lotus.

The effect in the screenshot looks really nice.
good work man

Looks very good so far.

I got a MAV when choosing New Emitter from the file menu after creating one previously.

It would be good to be able to rename the emitter as well.
And is there an option to change the number of particles?

N(Posted 2004) [#7]
Perturbatio: That last question I can answer: no. Not yet, at least. The particle limit is defined by a constant, and the particles are stored in an array. So, redimensioning (is that even a word?) could screw up certain parts. At this point, the array really isn't neccessary, but removing it would require rewriting the modification functions. And renaming emitters is simple, so I'm sure acid will have no trouble with it.

Thanks for answering that question :)

redimensioning (is that even a word?)

Yes it is :)

Just a heads up, Acid, the latest version of Lotus exports LPS files now (call "ExportLPS Path$,[Emitter]" ).

aCiD2(Posted 2004) [#12]
Yey!!!! :)

Mo(Posted 2004) [#13]
[sorry for reviving this old thread]
The downloadsite seems to be gone, can anyone tell me where to download it or send it to me by email( mo at mo-show.de )?

Unfortunately, shortly after acid released this program (about a month), his server was nuked and everything on it might as well have been lost. I'd send you a copy if I had it, but then I lost a lot my old Windows side as well, so that's kindof hopeless.

Hey, does anyone want to purchase a backup system :)

aCiD2(Posted 2004) [#16]
Flynn, maybe im misunderstood but are you offering to sell backups of my editor...? Anyway, people can contact me on msn with acid2@... the editor will be sent to you then. and yes, the server was nuked, i got charged £2s extra aswell :P

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2004) [#17]
No, a backup system for your server :)

popcade(Posted 2004) [#18]
