ok... i decided to see if i could apply the dot3 stuff to an animated b3d... it's not perfect yet, but here is a sort (800K) video comparing the example animation from the CharacterShop demo... first without dot3 bumpmapping applied, then with it. ![]() vid taken down Nov 17 the video quality isn't great, but you should be able to see the difference... broadband users click here --> http://home.att.net/~mikey102/BlitzAnimDot3_1.wmv dialup users right click and save target as for offline viewing. --Mike |

You can't see if it's right or not... because the dot3 map is so messy... it looks like random crap placed on the model. |

Maybe you should zoom up a little more, no matter if some parts are cut off. |

actually, i just found out, by using a satatic b3d, that it is only doing a normal mapping... not the dot3 lighting effects when the light moves as in the .x models... still playin with it... anyway, here's a closeup still of the anim... ![]() here's a lightmapped b3d wall... ![]() for comparison, here's the same wall with normalmapping applied ![]() --Mike |

my stuff is based on DudesDot3 BumpMapping demo... it's in the archives... the function EntityLight() lays it all out for you --Mike |
