I had a point where a lemon did not drop into an empty space below it.

Perturbatio:If the lemon was on the level at the beginining its a set piece, the only way to get rid of set pieces is remove them from where they are.

No, it was part way through the game, the lemon sat 1 up from the bottom and removing a fruit from below it (via another fruit) left a blank space below it.

strange, on my machines I have never come across this. I will look into it tho :)
