Here is an article put together very nicely:

http://www.lightwoodgames.com/blog/2012/09/everything-thats-wrong-with-the-app-store-in-ios-6/#.UGGbkqQ9W3S

Please read it, and if you agree, please contact Apple (like mentioned in the blog post). The more that will leave apple a message the more likely it will be changed in the future.

Oh well... that's horrible!

Ouch! If that stays like that, then there is not much of a reason to publish new apps in the iOS market. Unless you have a great fan base already!

Apple have been heading backwards for a while now....

Growing pains.

Apple apparently felt the need to stir the App Store pot for some reason. Curiously it's coming after the loss of Steve Jobs.

I wonder if this change only came because Steve wasn't there to say "HELL NO!"

We'll never know but I have the impression that Apple is not inovating as they used to. Anyway, Don't forget the whole flash apps banned issue when Steve was the CEO and how of a big drama it was for some indie devs. It was done without any previous notice, no explanation (they came later) and no workaround. So who knows... I have never seen Apple as a very indie friendly platform (but that's maybe me, I do not code on a Mac unless I'm forced to)

What I don't like in new App Store on iPad is that it doesn't automatically show other apps developed by developer and all the related apps (customers that downloaded this app downloaded also...).

This makes it harder to find out related software, which was part of my marketing strategy, but... now we need to adopt somehow.

I haven't checked it on iPhone though.

Apple have never been indie friendly. Apple users are, because they don't mind buying software they like.

Maybe these are glitches that will be fixed. If they really are bad for customers, you might see directory/review sites springing up even if they can't directly sell apps.

I just updated my ipad3 to ios6 and there is still a "new-apps" section. Can others confirm that? However, I don't know if its sorted by release date because no release date is shown.

Not on my ipod touch 4. There's only new&noteworthy.

I think Apple and Microsoft are both suffering at the moment from the same thing, their both missing their leaders, ever since gates stepped down MS has gotten a lot worse and not been as developer friendly, Apple is the same and look how long it took them to go mini with the tablet even tho it was something the big man upstairs never wanted.

I think both companies will probably take a while, months possibly years before some one with the imagination and insight that both bill and steve had.
