OUYA everywhere (MOJO, Xiaomi, Alibaba)

Monkey Targets Forums/Ouya/OUYA everywhere (MOJO, Xiaomi, Alibaba)

OUYA is supporting more and more hardware versions of their little console. One is the MOJO and soon they claim to make the jump to China with supported consoles from Xiaomi and Alibaba.

The China game market is exploding, and not just on mobile. Until recently, console gaming was illegal in China. It’s a “gold rush” of pent-up demand to play games on the TV.

Does Monkey support these extra 'OUYA' hardware?

Anyone into OUYA games making? The Chinese market is huge!

Anyone knows if the information below can be easily done?

To make a Xiaomi Console version, please update your game according to the following steps:

1. Download this ODK:
https://ouya-sdks.s3.amazonaws.com/xiaomi/odk-1.2.1493.zip

2. Go to this page https://github.com/ouya/docs/blob/master/enable_xiaomi_support.md for steps to rebuild an OEXiaomi APK using the AppID and AppKey

3. Submit the new APK to your OUYA Developer page as an update to the previous version.

We will test on OUYA, MOJO, and Xiaomi consoles, and get back to you as quick as we can. If we have any issues, we will reject the game from submission via email and follow up with next steps, also via email.

If it passes our internal tests your game will remain on-hold while it is submitted to Xiaomi. The last game approved, took around a week.

Anyone?

Thats pretty good to hear about the length of time it takes to submit and get it released like that. I'm playing around with OUYA, and really have been since it released. My day job keeps me away from pushing loads of needed dev time on getting my stuff ready to release though, so development goes very slowly.

I'm in the same boat as @computercoder, but I too have been ensuring my game has been working on the Ouya. When it's closer to release time, I will look at the above steps to see if it all works, but I look forward to being able to spread my game to a larger audience :)

Thanks for the info though!

OUYA got bought by Razer. Interesting to see what happens to the lil console after it's rocky start.

Wondering what affect this is going to have on the Ouya games library.. Hopefully it'll stay on, and if not, at least I have a little console at home I can make games for outside of any app store.. :)

Is anyone working on this still? Games will have to have different code for Razor than on OUYA because of different button graphics etc etc
